Well, well, well, what we have here is a Martin Custom guitar, a Martin 000-16M Custom to be exact. We are huge fans of the 15 series and 17 series with all solid mahogany on the top, back, and sides. We liked that the 17 series had the gloss finish. So when Martin approached Fret House owner, Tom Seymour, about having a custom shop model made for the store, Tom knew just what to get. The Martin 000-16M Fret House Custom starts out with a seamless 2-piece Solid Mahogany top with a deep black ebony pyramid-style bridge, ebony bridge pins with ivroid dots, and a drop in style slot for the saddle of bone. Drop-in saddles are such a great design and allow for versatility when installing electronics. Tom went with the all black pickguards rarely seen on all mahogany guitars to match the bridge and with the very classy thin single ring rosette. Solid mahogany sides, solid 2-piece mahogany back, and a solid mahogany neck with the basic and tasteful black binding. The ebony fretboard has the vintage style diamond and squares inlay in mother of pearl and the vintage style small frets. The headstock has a stunning flamed ebony headplate with Waverly tuners with Ebony buttons and a bone nut. Tom had finger-pickers in mind when the guitar was designed, and so the wide 1 3/4" nut spacing seemed appropriate. This amazing guitar has an equally amazing price for such a wealth of features, coming in under $3,500. The guitar comes with a Martin hardshell case, a Martin lifetime warranty, and the classic Fret House setup done by owner, Tom Seymour.
