Holy Schnikes C.F. Martin! Fret House owner, Tom Seymour, described the Martin Grand J-35E as "a kick-ass guitar." It's about 17 inches from side to side on the bout (the area behind the bridge), the shoulders are as wide as a standard Martin Dreadnaught and with a teeny little narrow waist in between. Beautiful 3-piece back and sides and that massive Solid Sitka Spruce top. But how does it sound? Well the best way to describe the sound is to hear it for yourself. The next best way to describe is a guitar thats sounds amazing when you dig into it with a flat pick. The root of the chord thunders out in front. When you finger pick it those overtones just ring for days. Play it hard, soft, or somewhere in between and it sounds AMAZING. If Zeus had a guitar it would be this one. Look, it's fun to write about it and I'm hoping you're enjoying reading this, but you need to do yourself a favor and come and check this guitar out. We're going to give you the best price at the Fret House, but it's still going to cost a pretty penny--but do all the kids really need to go to college and is your wife really gonna need that new car? Just kidding, but you get my point this guitar is an investment that will pay you back with years of great tone that only gets better with time.
